Day 22
Scales don't show any difference at all after my efforts this weekend.. Booooooooooooring. I wonder whyever not.. I haven't strayed from my diet (apart from eating baked beans in tomato sauce??) and I stayed away from alchohol this weekend too.. Oh well.
I used to have a pretty lazy and relaxed life. As a student, one is not forced into a daily routine, as classes tend to start at different times every day. I am a nightowl, and have no trouble staying up till 5am, nor sleeping till 3pm. I realised that this had to change in order to start a healthier life... I used to eat lollies pretty much every day, and as much of it as I pleased. Chocolate was my coffee, I pretty much had one bar a day, on average. I also used lollies to get through boring readings, studying for exams, and doing chores that didn't tempt much. Dinner was eaten at different times, and my diet was quite high in both fat and carb content. I never really cared what nutritional value my food had, as long as it tasted nice and filled me up. I would often feel fat and ugly, but instead of doing anything about it I'd just mope in bed and eat more lollies. In the end, I realised that I couldn't keep going like this. At heart I am an active person, and I missed being able to do all the things that I used to. Tramping, skiing, land hockey, volleyball... Although I could do them, I would always feel like a burden to my friends, because I am slow. Which would lead to feeling worse, and eating more crap while moping in bed. Uh oh. A life such as this would not be a long and happy one.
